Recently completed water feature in Maple Valley, WA. |
The recent project in Maple Valley includes a 30 foot stream fed by two different falls, and an open-air cedar gazeebo structure that rises from a medallion shaped patio crafted from rustic 12 inch pavers. A wooden bridge spans the waterway and provides passage to either side of the garden. Dry stack stone creates extra elevation for planting beds. The existing patio slab was utilized as a base for the flagstone patio that comes off the back door.
In addition to all the above stone, we used huge granite risers to make steps up to a nice patch of green grass. Although grass is becoming less popular in backyard gardens, (due to the maintenance involved with watering, weeding and cutting...) there's something to be said for walking barefoot through it or lying down on it while the sun's out.
We also planted beautiful specimen of Birch, Dogwood and Cypress. Lighting sets everything off in the evening hours.
